Welcome to the Tri-Lakeland website!
Tri-Lakeland was formed in 1987 by local athlete Barry Johnson and has grown fairly rapidly in the last few years and now boasts over 70 members and counting.
We're a very friendly triathlon club based in and around the beautiful market town of Cockermouth on the western edge of the Lake District. The club has developed over the last few years to cater for a growing demand from it's members and now include weekly run, bike, and swim sessions, not forgetting social events! We also jointly organise The Lakeland Triathlon at Bassenthwaite Lake which attracts over 350 competitors each year and are also planning a duathlon event for 2012.
Our aim is to provide a safe, encouraging, and friendly atmosphere where members can access weekly coached sessions and train with like minded people. Whether you just want to come along and enjoy the social experience of training and meeting new friends or have loftier ambitions to represent Great Britain in your age group Tri-Lakeland hopes to provide opportunities for everyone to achieve their goals, and more importantly enjoy them along the way.
